Responsible Growth
I am passionate about developing Ward 3 in a way that fulfills our needs, keeps it beautiful, and improves its productivity.
As Ward 3 continues to grow, we need to find ways to keep its beauty and productivity. Young families are looking for homes, not just a room in a tower. I believe we need to be very careful in balancing the need for density while still understanding what infrastructure supports our families. Having a strong history in agriculture, I also understand the need to protect farmland as our neighbourhoods grow. At times, agricultural land will need to be sacrificed. While this at times is necessary, I will fight to keep as much agricultural land as possible. I believe no productive farmland should be rezoned from Agricultural to Environmental Protected. Developers should be required to include room for naturalization and native species within their designs, not in the surrounding farm land. If elected, I promise to advocate for development that supports the needs of now and for generations to come.
